QEQI / APPLICATION

Pools & spas

Assess Q49 as part of a circulation system, with the filter type, circulation conditions and testing routine clearly identified.

01 / THE ASSESSMENT

Begin with the operating context.

Treatment that works alongside filtration and hygiene.

  • Pool use and circulation layout
  • Pump, filter and pipe outside diameter
  • Current testing and hygiene controls
02 / SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Products to assess for this application.

03 / VALIDATION

Agree on what to measure.

Record the baseline and compare equivalent operating conditions over an agreed period.

Treatment boundaries

This is not a filter or disinfectant. Maintain required chlorine, pH control, testing and local hygiene requirements.

04 / PROJECT CONTEXT

Start a useful conversation.

  • Pool use and circulation layout
  • Pump, filter and pipe outside diameter
  • Current testing and hygiene controls

A useful project record includes equipment configuration, operating baseline and the agreed monitoring period.

05 / APPLICATION FAQ

From configuration to daily operation.

Practical considerations for this application, its existing treatment and performance review.

What affects a meaningful pool-water comparison?

Bather load, outdoor conditions, circulation time, dosing and filter cleaning all affect observations. Record these alongside water-quality measurements and compare equivalent periods. Improved appearance should be reviewed separately from disinfectant levels and microbiological requirements.

Can filtration and backwashing be stopped?

Maintain the existing filtration and cleaning routine while assessing the system. Decide any later change from filter condition, measured water quality and the applicable operating rules. Electronic treatment does not collect solids or establish that a filter can be bypassed.

What should be included in a pool-system inquiry?

Provide pool volume, indoor or outdoor use, installation-pipe OD, pump flow and operating schedule. Include filter type, existing dosing, recent water tests and the problem you want to address. These describe the circulation system more usefully than pool volume alone.

ENGINEERING INPUT / SELECTION CRITERIA

A specification is only the starting point.

A useful configuration connects product ratings to the actual operating environment.

Assessment areaSite informationEngineering decision
Pipework & connectivityOutside / nominal diameter, material, branches and closed electrical loopsModel fit, clearance and signal conditions
Hydraulic conditionsFlow, circulation path, pump position and available pressureInstallation location and filtration configuration

Electronic scale control, particle separation and water-quality compliance are separate responsibilities. A site may need several coordinated processes. Neither scale control nor filtration universally replaces softening, membrane treatment, disinfection or chemical management.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION / MEASUREMENT

Make the operating evidence comparable.

01

Establish a baseline

Record equipment, deposits, cleaning intervals and existing water-treatment practice before changes.

02

Track operating conditions

Record load, flow, temperature, water quality and any parallel process changes during the observation period.

03

Review defined indicators

Compare cleaning records, pressure drop, heat-transfer behaviour or solids collection as appropriate to the application.

04

Attribute results carefully

Separate measured results, operator observations and financial estimates. Do not assume every change comes from one device.
